Welcome to the 2007-08 New York Islanders replay!

Hi, I just downloaded a tabletop hockey simulation game called "Pairadice Hockey" from http://www.tabletop-sports.com and I decided to replay the 2007-08 New York Islanders. The Islanders are my favorite New York pro sports team and I want to see if the Isles can make the playoffs and win the Stanley Cup! (They didn't come close in real life, but I hope they can bring Title #5 to Long Island!) Anyway, the Islanders look to make waves in the NHL, but when you are in the Atlantic Division, where you have the Devils (home of Martin Brodeur, greatest goalie ever), Rangers (don't like 'em, but Gretzky was good in NYC), Penguins (with the Dynamic Duo, Sid Crosby and Gene Malkin) and Flyers (whose slogan in 07-08 was all about vengeance, and vengeance was getting a couple of former Sabres, Danny Briere and '07 All-Star game candidate Rory Fitzpatrick--Rory Fitzpatrick, the Sarah Palin of sports All-Star voting, even though Fitzy and Palin I like and respect--Sarah will be our next President in 2012!), New York has a tough challenge ahead of them.
Expect the Isles to have a great season from #39, Rick DiPietro, who is worth every penny behind the net. Also, the Isles can count on great talent like #89, Mike Comrie to return to the postseason.
And the Islanders have a promising young player coming right out of Notre Dame named Philip Fitzpatrick (#14). Fitzpatrick, the 6'3", 185 lb. forward from New Hyde Park, only a few miles from the Coliseum, will try to impress the home town folk.
I'll do my best to talk NYI in this blog, and talk about all 82 games in this replay, and also have stats for each game and the season as well. The seasno starts October 9 at HSBC Arena against the Buffalo Sabres, and I have a feeling the Isles will do better in this replay than they did in real life.
LET'S GO ISLANDERS!
